Technical Lead — Design & Innovation (M/F)

Reporting to the technical management, the Technical Lead — Design & Innovation plays a central part in designing the energy systems NEEXT is building.

As a systems engineer, you are accountable for the overall performance of the plants we design, and you integrate the innovative technologies they rely on — including our patented reactive fluids.

Design & integration

• Design, analyse and optimise thermodynamic cycles, with an eye on energy performance, competitiveness and durability.
• Define the architecture and design of the heat-conversion systems built for our customers and for our R&D test benches.
• Select the right equipment: heat exchangers, turbomachinery, instrumentation, electrical systems, automation and control-command solutions.

Technical leadership

• Coordinate technical activities across R&D projects: design, technical purchasing, installation, commissioning, testing and operation of the test benches.
• Act as the interface with customers, industrial partners, suppliers and technical laboratories.
• Keep risks and system interfaces under control, clear technical roadblocks, and optimise CAPEX and OPEX so as to maximise the value created for our customers and deploy durable industrial solutions.

Modelling & innovation

• Take an active part in generating and protecting intellectual property (patents, prior-art searches).

Who we are looking for

• Engineering degree (mechanical, energy or design).
• Proven experience in integration or systems engineering, in energy or large industrial infrastructure.
• Solid practice with thermodynamic power cycles (steam, ORC, gas turbines, cogeneration, combined cycles).
• Sound knowledge of thermodynamics, mechanical construction, materials, instrumentation, electrical systems, automation and control-command solutions.
• Experience in demanding industrial and systems environments in the energy sector: nuclear, geothermal, biomass, concentrated solar power, waste heat.
• A proven ability to coordinate internal and external teams internationally (customers, partners, suppliers, laboratories).

Minimum experience: 10 years. Executive status (statut cadre). Starting as soon as possible.
